Vancouver Olympic Games and Going to Canada

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 1, 2010, 1:42 PM
  • Listening to: Sora no Woto (OP)
  • Reading: Mahou Sensei Negima
  • Watching: Hayate no Gotoku
  • Eating: pastas :3
  • Drinking: hot chocolate

So the Olympic Games in Vancouver are finished...

I watched the whole thing, from the opening ceremony to the closing ceremony. Great Olympic Games you organized there, Canada! Even though it started with tears: Nodar Kumaritashvili shouldn't have died in that event that is meant to bring together people and nations, in joy and happiness. But anyway...

Great Games, and good job Canada in winning 14 gold medals =D especially the last one ;p I watched the whole hockey final, and heh, I guess Crosby is a legend now. Sorry USA, but if I have to cheer for one team, it'd be for the maple leaf country: I have to root for my french-speakers cousins ;p
But congratulations to all athletes: Bode Miller did a great job, so did Marit Björgen, Petter Northug, Aksel Lund Svindal, Evan Lysacek, etc...
And also, thanks to all those who were here to compete, even if they didn't won anything =D It was a nice competition.

Soon should start the Paralympics games: knowing medias (at least here in France), I'm sure it won't be broadacasted here. >_> <_<
That is so sad, as I find those as much interesting as the "normal" ones, and also irrespectuous towards those athletes that don't get much attention...

Anyway...

I'm also going on a trip to Canada in 10 days: I'll be visiting some family in Québec, and I'll have a good friend of mine who will show me about her province: Nova Scotia =D I think it'll be a very nice trip and I hope to have a loooooot of fun ^_^

See you soon everyone!

It's the place where I put all my drawings. Since the censorship is a bit problematic on DA, you will find much more drawings there! ;p

Seems the germans actually beat the US... then again, IIRC Germany has historically been the team with the most medals in winter olympics.

Have fun in Quebec.

Well, the part with the second best nation in summer was due to the boycotting of the Olympics during the Cold War, but I disgress.

Also, I keep lurking around as I like your art, but I normally don't have much time to comment them in detail.

I kinda want to watch the Paralympics too, but I don't know if they'll be broadcasted here in the United States.

I was watching old Paralympics videos on YouTube the other day. This one particular video I remember had this one-legged woman in the Long-Jump event. Think about that.

Anyway, after the event, she met up with a male friend of hers, who is also missing a leg. I thought that was odd, because you'd naturally assume (or maybe just me) that the one-legged long-jumper would choose to associate more with a one-armed discus thrower or pole-vaulter.

Is discus throwing even in the Olympics anymore?

Haha maybe. I honestly didn't care about who one in figure skating <___< I always like the summer olympics simply because more countries can compete in them than in the winter ones^^ I always get excited for them but always just watch the opening/closing ceremonies and never any sports XD

Thank you for the praise. Our Canadian athletes really outdid themselves this year. Especially during the second week.

And you're right, the hockey final was really riveting. Crosby, even though he's still a kid, was already a legend here, but this will help making him be recognized as one of the best hockey players in history.

I wish France had done better in the games. You guys deserved more. Especially considering how good Germany did

Anyway, don't forget about me when you're in Quebec City. I'll treat you to a good beer somewhere.

Oh. Also. "Irrespectuous" should be... "disrespectful"
